In front of it, the "Castries Central Library" , was built and opened in 1924. During a fire in 1948, the andrew Carnegie Public Library was heavily damaged and most of the collection of 20.000 books was destroyed . In 1950, the building was restored. Today, You will appreciate its original appearance.

By the end of the tour, lets discover Howelton Estate 1896 .  A 122 year old Victorian style building sits on 8 acres of lush vegetation with an amazing view on Castries city.
